What a wonderful day in May for a wedding in the Hampshire countryside, and even more special that Sommer’s American family could be present to enjoy the glories of the late spring too.
Shooting in this tiny village church was a wonderful creative challenge, thankfully there were two aisles so I was able to quietly change locations during the songs. If you’re getting married in a church, it’s always worth double checking if you’re definitely allowed photos inside, unfortunately it seems like a few churches have had some bad experiences and so it’s becoming increasingly more common for photographers to be asked to wait outside until the service is over. Thankfully, Ben’s brother was the vicar and was absolutely lovely and trusting that I would document discreetly and sensitively. And as a result there are some really lovely moments from when Ben and Sommer said their vows.
Oh and one more thing, kids at weddings… I love them! Ben and Sommer had lots of flower girls and page boys and I’ll never forget them charging out to the church after the ceremony to have a good old run around.
